Navasota man facing Evading Arrest, DUI by a Minor charges after harassing officers at Northgate

August 2, 2022 by Willy1550

A Navasota man was taken to jail this weekend after allegedly harassing officers, and having an expired registration.

College Station’s probably cause statement says they saw two men illegally crossing the road on University Drive. While talking with the two men, 20 year old Diego Bernabe Chavez of Navasota drove up, and yelled an expletive at the cops, to ask what they were doing.

The officer noticed Chavez was not wearing his seat belt, and tried to get him to stop, but Chavez took off down University Drive. A Texas A&M Police Officer stopped him a short time later, where Chavez failed a sobriety test.

Chavez was taken to jail on charges of Evading Arrest with a Vehicle, and DUI by a Minor. He was released after posting a $5,800 bond.
