Iola man jailed for 29th time on marijuana charges

October 4, 2022 by Willy1550

A car pulled over for an expired registration tag lands an Iola man in jail for the 29th time.

The traffic stop happened at Hardy Weedon Rad and Highway 30, and a Brazos County Sheriff’s deputy immediately smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle.

A dog was present in the car, so the officer asked 58 year old Richard Thurmon of Iola to exit. He admitted to marijuana being inside the car, and a relative came to pick up his car, and dog.

Thurmon was taken jail, and faces a Possession of Marijuana charge for the 5th time. He was released after posting a $3,000 bond.
