Another Commissioner’s Court meeting brings approval of another, new subdivision in Grimes County.
Road and Bridge Engineer Harry Walker presented a plat for what would be dubbed the Krat Subdivision, which is pronounced as ‘K-Rat,’ in the northern stretches of the county.
“This is located off County Road 127 in the Iola area, this is another one of the ‘Happy Home’ developers, who has worked often in this area. They are putting in a new road, as part of the subdivision. It consists of seventeen (17) lots, slightly in excess of one acre in size. They do have public water and septic, so they do meet our rules,” said Walker.
Walker reminded the court that they were not just approving the plat, but also, bonds for the new roadway through said neighborhood.
“The bond is in the amount of $178,000…it is pretty simple, and straightforward,” said Walker. “They have done previous subdivisions, that included road construction, and they did a very nice job. It would be the same construction team involved, so I think they will do an excellent job there, too.”
Commissioner’s approved both the plat, and the bonds for the roadway to be constructed for the Krat subdivision.
No timetable was given for construction.
