Navasota played host to some prominent Wine Travel Writers last month.
The city Marketing and Communication Coordinator Bobbie Ullrich spoke during a recent city council meeting about the small group that came October 9th, consisting of writers from Travel Texas, Destination Bryan, and the City of Brenham.
She says they got the full taste of the town.
“They started at Rail & Rye for lunch, then went to Threshold Vineyards for an afternoon tasting. Then, guests checked into the P.A. Smith Hotel and Red Velvet Inn, and explored downtown with Patout’s Wine Shop, dinner at Red Board Tavern, then had a nightcap at Hamer’s Speakeasy,” said Ullrich. “The next day, they enjoyed a breakfast and brew from Classic Rock Cafe, took a downtown history tour, visited Beeweaver Honey Farm and then finished everything off at Martha’s Bloomers Cafe.”
Ullrich said that while they have not released a written article just yet, they all enjoyed what Navasota, and Girmes County, had to offer.
“They all said they would return, so hopefully we can get more coverage. But, in the end, this is just generating more coverage for us in magazines, articles, online, social media…so, we are looking forward to sharing that once they come,” said Ullrich.
She also thanked Executive Director of the Chamber Johnny McNally for providing the tour to the group.
