Christmas weekend saw chilly, windy weather cause some damage in Navasota, NPD assisting in a car chase, and a vehicle accident on Washington Avenue.
The winter storm, which brought lows in the teens, pushed wind gusts over 40 miles an hour Friday afternoon. That led to one downed power line at South La Salle and McApline, which cut power for a few hours in that area. It was restored later in the day by Entergy.
Firday night, Navasota Police helped bring a high speed chase to an end with spike strips. As first reported by the Examiner, the vehicle then went down Hill Street, before crashing into a ditch near Falco’s. No word on who was arrested.
NPD capped the Christmas weekend responding to a single vehicle crash last night, in front of Circle K on Washington Avenue. That SUV ran into the brick median, but no injuries were reported.
