Another single family neighborhood is coming to Navasota.
A zoning change was discussed and approved at Monday’s City Council meeting for a 35 acre tract of land adjacent to Pecan Lakes Phase 2.
Brandon Goodyk from Crosstrails Development LLC says the idea is to extend the same standards from Pecan Lakes into the new development.
“We are partnering with two builders: Stylecraft Builders and Ranger Homes. Right now, we are looking to do three different phases, with the first one about 40 lots, initially at least. We will see how the market is, then continue from there,” said Goodyk.
It will be north of Pecan Lakes, between 105 and the subdivision. Goodyk says too they are looking to start construction as soon as possible.
The idea was approved by Planning and Zoning as well, with Community Development Director Guadalupe Diosdado saying a few residents had concerns, which were easily calmed.
“We had quite a few residents come out from Pecan Lakes Estates, the subdivision just to the south of this proposed development. Their main questions were just if this would be single family, or multi-family. Once it was communicated it was a single family project, there was no real opposition,” said Diosdado.
In total, Diosdado said they are expected to build around 140 lots, with Goodyk adding they will do it in three different phases.
