An Iola man is in jail on four separate burglary charges after attempting to steal iPads, and rent checks from two businesses.
College Station Police were following up on two burglary cases in mid-February. The first occurred January 30th at The Enclave Apartments, where a rent check and money order made out to the complex were stolen, as well as an Apple iPad. video surveillance also showed the man peering into windows before forcing himself inside.
Officers also followed up with Lucky Dog Wash and Grooming in town, who had their building burglarized on February 2nd. Stolen in that robbery was another iPad, a pair of hair trimmers, and a Dremel tool.
The investigation led officers to 30 year old Johnathan Garrett Compian of Iola, who was already in jail.
Compian admitted to burglarizing the dog wash business, but denied burglarizing the apartments, saying he found the checks on the ground.
It is Compian’s 6th time in jail since October of 2021. He faces four charges of Burglary of a Building, and remains in jail on bonds totaling $20,000.
