Numerous capital improvement projects and other utility upgrades in Navasota are chugging along as we wrap up the first three months of 2023.
Public Works Director Jennifer Reyna gave an update at Monday’s Council meeting. saying they are making loads of progress on the repairs to the wastewater treatment plant.
“The phase two project, the purifier emergency repairs…all the parts for that have been ordered. We expect that to be repaired by July or August…then, we are also waiting on a professional service agreement for the rotors, and the generator,” said Reyna.
As she noted recently too, the Automated Weather Observing System at the airport is near completion, and says they are also close to finished with the sidewalk replacements from 8th to 10th street.
“We have concrete being pored for four tree wells, drainage work for two locations, sidewalk corrections in front of Treasures will be done, then the handrails will be installed,” said Reyna. “So, we are almost done with that project.”
Reyna added that bids are opening for the Street and Utility Capital Improvement Project in two weeks.
