The Grimes County Historic Commissioner is looking for a new, permanent home.
Leader of the commission, and Tax Assessor-Collector Mary Ann Waters, spoke to court last Wednesday about why they want to move their operation to the County Clerk building.
She added that there is work being done already to have that building declared a historic marker.
Commissioner Barbara Walker noted, however, that building is where the equipment and important records for the elections office are kept.
Commissioner Phillip Cox echoed the same sentiment, and the court ultimately decided to table the discussion for a future date.
