ON TUESDAY THE 11TH, AROUND 10:20PM, NAVASOTA POLICE OFFICERS WERE WORKING TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT ON HIGHWAY 6 AND OBSERVED A VEHICLE TRAVELING OVER 110MPH IN A POSTED 75MPH SPEED ZONE. THE OFFICER ATTEMPTED TO STOP THE VEHICLE, BUT IT FLED. THE VEHICLE WAS VERIFIED TO BE STOLEN OUT OF WALLER COUNTY, TX. NAVASOTA POLICE OFFICERS PURSUED THE VEHICLE INTO COLLEGE STATION, TX AND WERE ASSISTED BY THE COLLEGE STATION POLICE DEPARTMENT.
THE VEHICLE CRASHED ON PRINCETON CIRCLE IN COLLEGE STATION, TX AND THREE OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE FLED ON FOOT.
AT APPROXIMATELY 1:30AM, COLLEGE STATION POLICE OFFICERS LOCATED THE SUSPECTS WHO ARE IDENTIFIED AS: ROMEO JACKSON (17) OUT OF WALLER, TX, JOHNATHAN BENNETT (17) OUT OF PRAIRIE VIEW, TX, AND A JUVENILE.
COLLEGE STATION POLICE OFFICERS LOCATED NARCOTICS AND FIREARMS DURING THE ARREST OF THE SUSPECTS. MR. JACKSON AND MR. BENNETT WERE BOOKED INTO THE BRAZOS COUNTY JAIL AND THE JUVENILE WAS BOOKED INTO THE BRAZOS COUNTY JUVENILE DETENTION CENTER.
THE NAVASOTA POLICE DEPARTMENT IS ALSO FILING CHARGES AGAINST THE SUSPECTS FOR EVADING AND UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A MOTOR VEHICLE.
