Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller has ordered employees to dress “in a manner consistent with their biological gender”…which is part of a dress code that has drawn opposition from the ACLU.
People who violate the dress code will be asked to go home and change, and if they refuse, they could be fired.
Miller’s requirements call for business attire: collared shirts, business suits, dresses and blazers. women have to wear closed toed conservative shoes and can’t wear clothes considered too tight. Western wear is ok, including cowboy hats. The ACLU insists the dress code is illegal because of federal laws that ban employment discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
