A newsletter from the Texas Association of Broadcasters says Dan Patrick signed House Bill 30 on Tuesday after reporters asked him about its status. The governor has until June 18th to sign, veto, or let HB 30 become law without his signature. If enacted, HB 30 will allow access to law enforcement information related to cases where suspects have died or were incapacitated, or each other person mentioned in the information consents to release. HB 30 was the only one out of 13 hundred bills passed by both chambers that had not been sent to the governor.
