A Grimes County man was indicted by a Brazos County grand jury last month on charges from causing a crash more than two years ago while under the influence of marijuana. The Bryan police arrest report says 31 year old Roderick Deon Jones of Navasota was attempting to elude officers when his car struck a tree near the city golf course.
A passenger in his car was treated for a dislocated ankle where a bone protruded through the side of her leg. The indictment charges Jones with intoxication assault causing serious bodily injury and aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury. He has been out of jail on bond since shortly after his arrest in November of 2021.
