Navasota ISD has a new Athletic Director/Head Football Coach.
The announcement to hire Michael “Trey” Allen was made at a special meeting of the Board of Trustees last night.
Allen is a graduate of Abilene Christian University, holding certifications in Physical Education as well as Special Education.
He served as Assistant Coach in football, basketball, baseball and track at Coldspring Oakhurst in 2009 as his first coaching job. He also worked as Assistant Coach at Lewisville ISD and Diboll, and served as Defensive Coordinator for Jasper with a record of 47-11.
Allen comes to Navasota from Kirbyville, where he was Athletic Director/Head Coach for the last 3 years, bringing the Wildcats their first District Championship since 2015. Under his leadership last year, the Wildcats had the #1 Offense and #1 Defense in District 10-3A.
Along with enthusiasm for his new position in Navasota, Allen brings his family, wife of 14 years, Meggan and 3 children who will be attending Navasota Schools.
