According to a post on the City of Navasota’s Facebook page, which reads in part,
“The City of Navasota has finalized the purchase of a 4-acre tract of land that will become the future home for the Navasota Fire Department (NFD).
The current 30-year-old fire station was built and opened in late fall of 1994. This 30-year-old building has reached the end of its useful life to continue as the permanent home for our Navasota Fire Department.
Last year, the mayor assigned a City Council subcommittee of two councilmembers to work closely with the city manager and city staff to identify potential locations for a new fire station.
We are excited to announce the new station is to be located along Spur 515, directly behind the Circle T Truck Stop. This will be an ideal location for NFD to respond to our growing community.
The City of Navasota would like to thank Dr. Max Brand, realtor, and the family of Faber McMullen for making sure NFD has the best location for our new fire station. We look forward to the next steps of design and construction of the new station…”
