According to a press release from the Grimes County District Attorney’s Office,
“On Monday, May 13, 2024, Juan Alcocer Galindo, age 44, pled guilty to Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child.
In June 2023, the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office received information Juan Galindo had sexually abused two females in the Plantersville area. Both females were under the age 14, and both were living in Illinois at the time the report was made.
GCSO Lt. James Racus and DA Chief Investigator John Wren worked together in the early stages of the investigation to gather evidence.
On July 6, 2023, Lt. Racus and Chief Wren traveled to Galindo’s workplace and made contact with him. Galindo agreed to accompany them to the Sheriff’s Office for an interview. Juan Galindo was interviewed by DPS Lt. Juan Aguilera. During the interview Galindo confessed to sexually assaulting one of the females.
While the interview was underway, DA Investigator Blake Baldobino led another team to execute a search warrant on the residence of Galindo. Corroborating evidence was located during the search.
In September 2023, Chief Wren and Assistant District Attorney Meagan Callaham traveled to Illinois to meet with both victims. They were able to gain valuable information to further prove the State’s case.
Juan Galindo pled guilty before 12th District Judge David Moorman. He was sentenced to 35 years in prison for Continuous Abuse of a Child. For this offense, Galindo must serve the entire sentence without parole.
Juan Galindo is in the Grimes County Jail awaiting transfer to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
