You may have noticed some new speed limit signs while driving on Washington Avenue in Navasota.
According to a Facebook post from the City of Navasota, “In an effort to enhance road safety and as a result of Navasota’s continued growth, the speed limit on Washington Avenue has been reduced to 30 mph. This decision follows a recent study conducted by TxDOT to ensure the safest travel conditions for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists.
PLEASE NOTE: The Navasota Police Department will be allowing a grace period for drivers until October 1, 2024, giving everyone time to adjust to the new speed limit.
Please remember to slow down and stay safe as you travel through Navasota.”
