According to the Texas Flyover, “Fisherman Ross Gomez caught the same trophy largemouth bass he snagged two years ago in Lake Alan Henry last week. Gomez initially caught the fish at the Lubbock-area reservoir on February 10, 2023, when it weighed 13.22 pounds.
The fish was then transported to the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens, where it was tagged, DNA analyzed and used to spawn over 33,000 fingerlings that were stocked into Texas lakes.
When Gomez caught the fish again last week, it weighed 14.78 pounds, making it one of the biggest catches of the season, earning a shoutout from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD), who congratulated Gomez via social media on “being reunited” with the fish, calling it a “Bigger Better Bass Bromance,” as both catches were made right before Valentine’s Day.”
