A Navasota murder case was put to bed in an unusual way this week; not with a judge’s gavel, but with a death.
Kelly Armstrong, out on bond after being charged in the death of his wife, Autumn, who bled out in august of 2014 after being fatally shot in the leg, was himself found dead in his home Tuesday afternoon September 29th.
Grimes County DA Tuck McLain tells Navasota News, initial investigation of the body of Armstrong does not indicate any foul play.
But none of that really matters now, he continues, when the rest of the evidence comes back from investigators later this month, it’ll be boxed up and filed away. No jury. No justice. Just loss and a family left behind.
The DA says, his thoughts are with the remaining Armstrong Family, a Daughter in College, a young son, now living with his aunt and both of the deceased’s parents.
McLain adds that Armstrong was not a physically healthy man, and all evidence, so far, is pointing to natural causes. None the less, he adds, Armstrong’s body has already been sent out for an autopsy and he expects to have the results in later this month.
