There is a new district judge serving Leon, Madison, and Walker counties. The governor has appointed Tracy Sorensen of Huntsville in the 278th district, starting New Year’s Day and continuing until either the end of 2026 or until her successor is elected.
The governor’s news release says she was in private practice and is active in legal organizations based in Walker and Montgomery counties.
