As State Highway 249 comes charging through Grimes County, some local roads not mentioned in the project before are being tied into the highway.
Road and Bridge Engineer for the county Harry Walker gave an update on things at last week’s Commissioner’s Court meeting.
“I received permit approval from TXDOT for the extension of Pinebrook Drive to State Highway 249, we just still have the real estate transaction to finalize,” said Walker.
Walker added they asked TXDOT to loop in a couple of other roads to the project.
“We have requested two other roads be tied into 249, but they are still reviewing. Only the Pinebrook Drive one has been approved thus far,” said Walker.
Walker said they are still working on right of way land issues for the other two roadways, before TXDOT can add them.
No word on what the other two roads would be.
