The Capital Improvement Project in Navasota continues along, with replacements of old utility pipes and lines, and the addition of new ones going on every day.
Director of Streets and Sanitation Jose Coronilla gave an update at Monday’s City Council meeting on a new part of the project they want to work on, which has been a bug-a-boo to citizen’s for some time.
“We are adding a new storm drain on North Judson…there has never been one there. So, all the water coming from Arlan’s Market, going to the side…the inlets on the other side, they sometimes cannot take all the water coming from the library side, so it goes over the curb on that road,” said Coronilla. “I have been called by citizen’s before about it, and I think it is time to make that happen. Hopefully we can fix the issue by adding storm drains, to get the water into the inlet boxes faster.”
He said in his update as well that additional inlets will be constructed on Foster Street, which should help with water retention in that area.
