Ag Extension Updates Iola PTO On Drug Trends

February 18, 2016 by Willy1550

Among other topics, the most recent meeting of the Iola High School Parent Teacher Organization discussed the latest drug trends and their legal implications for our kids.

The local Ag Extension’s Bobby Brooks tells Navasota News, today’s students have chosen to embrace an illegal herb over another, legal and widely accepted social drug, as they believe it is their best medicinal option.

Students tend to think marijuana isn’t that bad as their parents have either done it in the past or feel it’s not that dangerous but, she continues, the THC levels today are much higher than in the past and nobody really knows what the long-term effects will be on the body or the mind.

And with that being said, Brooks asks that parents, well … be parents. Just pay attention to what’s going on in your own home, and for goodness sake don’t be afraid to sit your kids down for a talk.

If you’d like more information on today’s popular drug trends call, 979-862-8325.
