A Navasota man getting in a dispute with his ex girlfriend is in jail on assault charges.
College Station police responded to the apartment at University Oaks, where 24 year old Fred Thompson III of Navasota stated he was removing his personal belongings from her apartment, when an altercation occurred, though he said nothing was physical.
His ex girlfriend told police that Thompson was taking her items, and while she was on the phone with her mother, Thompson allegedly grabbed her by the hair, pulling out her braids, and scratching her left hand.
Officers observed the injuries on the woman, and Thompson was taken to jail, facing charges of Assault Causes Bodily Injury – Family Violence.
He remains in jail on bonds which total $4,000.
