Anderson man arrested in College Station on DWI, weapon and drug charges

August 24, 2021 by Andre Perrard

A drunk driving traffic stop on Saturday night resulted in the arrest of an Anderson man on numerous charges.

According to the arrest report from the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office, an officer observed a black pick up truck swerving in and out of lanes on FM 2154 near rock Prairie road. The officer then witnessed the vehicle almost strike the raised median, and take up both lanes after turning onto Rock Prairie.

When approaching the vehicle during the stop, the officer noted slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and smelled alcohol. When asked to exit and if he had any weapons, the driver stated he had a gun in the center console. That is when the officer noted the smell of marijuana.

The driver stated it was his marijuana when asked. He was given a field sobriety test, which he subsequently failed. He was arrested, and identified as 29 year old Ross Ray Johnson of Anderson.

He was booked into the Brazos County jail on charges of DWI, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Possession of Marijuana under 2 ounces. He was released after posting a $11,000 bond.
