Add to this May’s election ballot a potential multi-million dollar bond project for Anderson-Shiro CISD.
The district approved the resolution to call for the bond at their February 16th board meeting, and a package which would total $44.5 million.
The bond follows a yearlong study into the facilities in the district.
The main piece of the plan would be construction of a new elementary campus, for pre-kindergarten through 5th grade, located behind the high school. That would also include an additional entrance to ease traffic.
The plans then call for a renovation of the existing elementary to use for the Junior High, grades 6 through 8.
The High School will see upgrades and additions to the areas for Ag, Special Education, and CTE.
A new administration for ASCISD would be constructed, with the current one remodeled for additional classroom space.
Finally, the plan would include additions to the existing bus maintenance and bus parking, plus additions to the Field House, which includes more locker rooms and a new weight room. The existing weight room will then be turned into CTE classrooms.
Early voting for the May 6 election begins April 24.
