It is May, and that means it is primetime fundraising season for Volunteer Fire Departments, and that includes the one in Anderson.
Samantha Kimmich with the Anderson VFD spoke to us recently about their Steak Dinner, Auction and Gun Raffle coming up this weekend at the KC Hall.
“We will start serving at 6 pm. Following after at 7 pm, we will have the live auction. We will have plenty of gift certificates, jewelry from David Gardner’s Jewelers, Lowe’s donated a gas grill, porch swings, homemade baked goods, quilts, blankets, the list goes on,” said Kimmich. ‘The community has really helped us out this year.”
As they did last year, they are bringing back the ever popular gun raffle, with a selection of about 15-20 guns.
“It is $10 per ticket, and we draw in order. So, we start with number 1, draw the ticket, that person wins, and we go down to two. You have to buy individual tickets for each gun,” said Kimmich.
The annual Steak Dinner, Action and Gun Raffle for the Anderson VFD returns this Saturday, May 14th.
