An Anderson woman with a warrant out for her arrest is in the Brazos County jail for trying to shoplift from Walmart.
The arrest report from College Station police say they got the call from he Walmart on Harvey Mitchell Parkway Saturday afternoon. Seen on surveillance was a woman taking a shopping cart full of unpaid clothing into the bathroom, only to emerge with the clothing stuff into two purses, which were also stolen Walmart property.
Officers eventually talked with 31 year old Elizabeth Ann Dixon of Anderson, who stated that she was not stealing before being asked. She began to cry later, saying she was homeless and just trying to survive.
In total, police tallied 15 stolen items in the amount of $140.37. Dixon was arrested on a charge of Theft between $100 and $750. Dixon also had a warrant out of Robertson County for Evading Arrest.
She remains in jail on bonds which total $48,000.
