You’ll get to try your hand at glow-in-the-dark golfing next week at the 11th Annual Bob Whitten Golf Tournament. The Navasota Grimes County Chamber of Commerce’s Johnny McNally explains that’s because half of it will be at night.
That won’t be the only difference, either. McNally tells Navasota News this tourney could make you a thousand dollars richer, with a helicopter golf ball drop. And just like it sounds, a helicopter will be dropping balls near one of the golf pins and whoever owns the one closest to the pin wins. You don’t need to be in the tourney to play, he continues, the chamber is only selling six-hundred of these balls at ten dollars apiece, and you don’t need to be present to win. To play in the tournament will cost you one-hundred bucks.
Registration for the Annual Bob Whitten Tournament continues up to the competition’s start at 3 Thursday afternoon at the Pecan Lakes Golf Course.
