Annual Food Drives Kicks Off

November 30, 2015 by Willy1550

It’s time already for the Brazos Valley’s 20th annual Food For Families Holiday Food Drive, and donations from both individuals and groups from all over the county of grimes have begun flowing in.

MidSouth Synergy’s Erin Hughes tells Navasota News, the drive is a great way for everybody to rally behind and help the needy families in Grimes.

Hughes says she’s been taking part in the food drive for nearly a decade, and support in Grimes has always been high.  And with the cost of living increasing and more people moving into the area, she adds, the need for such communal generosity continues to grow.

There’s still time for you to have a part in the blessing of giving, Hughes reminds.  The deadline for contributions is December 9th.

You can drop off your donations of canned good, toiletries and other non-perishable goods to MidSouth Synergy’s main office on FM 3090 in Navasota, the Kimbro Center in Madisonville or the Brazos Center in Bryan.  But all donations made here in Grimes, will stay here in Grimes.

And if you’d like to help collect food, or give in some other way, call 936-825-5178.
