And now, Entergy wants to take more Grimes County land for a new power line heading east from its Tenaska Substation over to the Willis area to its Lewis Creek facility near Lake Conroe.
Entergy’s Gary McClanahan told commissioners this week the precise path is still awaiting the okay of the PUC. He told the court all landowners within three hundred feet of the proposed route would be notified, and then be able to share their thoughts at a June 14th Open House from 4pm-7pm at the Anderson American Legion Hall.
To which county judge ben leman responded, don’t expect a warm welcome. And he continued, the people of Grimes have been hit hard by a lot off different projects and it is just hard.
Also, County Road and Bridge Administrator Greg Blake said County Road 302 at Goldenrain will closed to replace the bridge. There will be northern and southern detours posted, he said, but rain could close the southern one.
Also depending upon weather, Blake estimated that main east-to-west southern Grimes route may be closed to through traffic for as long as a month. We’ll keep you posted, here on Navasota News.
