COVID vaccinations in Grimes County continue moving on at a steady pace.
Speaking at Wednesday’s Commissioner’s Court meeting, County Judge Joe Fauth gave an update on the numbers, since the county does not have a stand alone health department that does so.
“Our population, age 16 and older, is 23,200. We have 4,400 doses allocated. However, some of our people have been vaccinated out of county, because we have 9,080 who have received dose one, and a total of 5,444 who have gotten both doses. So, total number of people 16 and older, who are at least partially vaccinated, is around 40 percent,” said Fauth.
Fauth mentioned that there is a statewide, 24/7 hotline number, at 254-778-6744, where you can can get more information on the vaccine.
“If you have questions or concerns about being vaccinated, that number can give you locations. More locally, our Emergency Management Coordinator David Lilly, he is glad to talk to any citizen who may have a concern, positive or negative, about the COVID vaccine process,” Fauth said.
To get in contact with the Lilly for any questions on the process, call his office at 936-873-4404.
Vaccinations are also available at the Brazos Center Hub, and the Washington County vaccination hub.
