Arts Council case handed to Brazos County DA’s Office

March 19, 2019 by Andre Perrard

We reported a month ago that the former CEO of the Arts Council of the Brazos Valley, Sylvia McMullen, had resigned due to illicitly using an Arts Council credit card. That case is now going to the Brazos County District Attorney’s Office.

The College Station Police have wrapped up their review of the case and will pass it on to the DA, who will perform their own review.

McMullen used an Arts Council credit card over the holiday’s, totaling charges of nearly $700, in what she claims was a mistake. McMullen wrote the council a reimbursement check for the charges. The Council says the issue was found after internal checks and balances.

We will update you on the story as we hear more here on Willy 1550 and 98.7 FM.
