The schools up in the north end of Grimes are closing their doors to transfer students. And the Anderson Shiro Consolidated Independent School District’s Superintendent tells Navasota News, while the district isn’t at capacity, the steady increase in students is causing them to hold off and take a look at what’s next.
Sara Goolsby explains, there are a few exceptions though, it will still take in transfer students for kindergarten who are siblings to current ones, but right now wants to focus on what it has right now.
This is a proactive step she continues, the district leadership suggested the no transfer policy out of respect for the teachers time, giving students individual attention and also wants to take this time to look to the future.
Goolsby says if you were looking at having your kids come to Anderson Shiro, get in contact with the district and it will let you know whether or not it is taking kids in, or not.
And if and when that does change you’ll hear about it on Navasota News. For more about the ASCISD call, 936-873-4500
