More numbers have come about from the Texas Birthday bash as the week has gone on, and the attendance may have been higher than the initial reporting.
“The estimated attendance we got, for the total weekend, was about 15,000. Seeing about 10,000 for Saturday, and about 5,000 for Friday,” said City Manager Brad Stafford during the most recent Grilling Stafford episode.
“We are still trying to perfect how to count all of those people. There were no children counted, they were here. There were folks with booths, and stuff…they did not get a lot of tickets with their booth, but they had people come in with them. I think that 15,000 is a pretty accurate number,” Stafford continued.
He says too that the feedback this year was through the roof.
“All the comments I got during the event were very good. You could hear, most of the musicians were very happy. Our citizen’s…we had visitors from other places, they were just happy to be able to get out,” said Stafford. “The good part of that was, it was an outdoor event, so people could keep their distance if they wanted to, and I did see folks wearing masks. So, I just think it was a really nice opportunity to get folks out of the rut we have been in for a year.”
