The CDC is out with another warning that Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) medications are in short supply, and that has some parents struggling to find a source. There are options online through tele-health, but experts say that families need to watch for some red flags.

Jeanie Shawhart at the Texas Tech Health Science Center says, “If you’re speaking with a different doctor or nurse on each check-up, that’s a red flag as well. The problem started during COVID. Tele-health was expanded, allowing more people to get a prescription for ADHD medication. At the same time, there is a shortage of active ingredients.”
