Are any improvements going to be made to the softball facilities at August Horst park in Navasota? That was a question asked during the most recent episode of Grilling Stafford.
City Manager Brad Stafford said that, while there are no actual plans in place at the moment, it is something he and staff discuss.
“Again, we go through the processes of prioritizing infrastructure needs, and we have talked about this a lot…right now, our concentrations is on making sure utility mains and drainage systems are in good shape,” said Stafford.
Stafford added that he, along with other staff, have been discussing filling the position Director of Parks and Recreation to help them figure out just what needs to be done.
“That person should be able to help us with putting some of these plans in motion, looking for some grant funding, and other mechanisms for funding these improvements that we know need to be made in our parks, just like are being made at Ketchum park right now,” Stafford said.
There was no timeline set for potential upgrades to the facilities, and there is no set date for hiring a Director of Parks and Recreation.
