Authorities find missing vehicle in Navasota River

August 31, 2020 by Andre Perrard

Delays on Highway 6 Monday afternoon have been caused by the finding of a missing truck in the Navasota River.

According to deputies, the vehicle is a pickup that is owned by a local company. Officials say they believe the truck was heading Northbound on Highway 6 before it crashed and went into the river.

A dive team was sent, and searched the river for victims. The driver was located some time later, at his home in College Station.

Navasota Fire, the South Brazos VFD, College Station Fire and Texas DPS assisted Navasota PD.

Traffic stayed slow for multiple hours, as crews work to search for any possible victims.

Authorities are continuing their investigation ad questioning of the driver as to how the vehicle got there.
