The annual Back to School Backpack Giveaway in Grimes County is back next week!
“Next Tuesday morning (August 9th), we will be having the backpack giveaway, from 10 am until 1 pm. We want to thank the court for keeping that in the budget. It benefits so many students, all over the area. Sometimes, it is over the region, because I think they come in from other places. But, they are welcome,” said Commissioner Barbara Walker speaking at Wednesday’s meeting of Commissioner’s Court. “We are hoping to bless at least 500 to 600 students. We are prepared for you.”
She did note that pre-registration for the event is closed, but encourages anyone to come out anyway, as they will have extra.
The event is August 9th, from 10 am until 1 pm, at the Grimes County Fairgrounds.
