Grimes County Commissioner Barbara Walker extends a thank you to those that helped with the recent annual Backpack and school supply giveaway last week.
“I was the first time we have ever collected over 800 backpacks. We are trying to make sure no child is left out. We are going to take what is left to the schools, in case someone shows up not having what they need,” said Walker at Wednesday’s meeting of Commissioner’s Court.
School began at Navasota ISD on Monday, the last district in Grimes County to begin.
