August 8, 2022 by Willy1550

A Bedias man who told police he pulled off to the side of the road to get some rest is arrested on charges of possessing meth.

Bryan Police say reports came from someone regarding a man sleeping in his truck at a pasture entrance on Silver Hill Road. Once 52 year old Carl Eugene Ackley of Bedias awoke, officers discovered he had a warrant out of Burleson County for DWI with a child under 13 years of age.

He was placed under arrest, and while securing his vehicle, officers fund a syringe on he floorboard. Ackley stated it was meth, which he uses to help with his depression.

Ackley was jailed on the warrant, plus faces new charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1, and is being held without bond.
