The excitement is growing in northern Grimes, as the grand opening of the first medical clinic to come to Bedias in anyone’s memory is just weeks away. it’s the BIS (for Bedias, Iola and Shiro) Community Clinic. And the driving force behind it says it’ll be right in the heart of the community.
It’s at 22140 Highway 90 North, which is right in the center of town, says Dr. Elizabeth Ellis, right across from the grocery and the Citco Gas Station, at the corner of Magnolia and Hwy 90. And, she adds with a smile, the sign’ll just went up last week.
Plans, Ellis says are to have the doors open sometime the first part of September. The clinic will serve residents of all ages, and will initially be able to see more than two dozen patients a day. It will accept all major insurances, offer extended hours and have a class d pharmacy onsite. and, she adds, they also need some personnel with front desk experience.
And, because the BIS Community Clinic’s website is still under construction, Ellis says that, for now at least, the best way to get in touch is by phone. Call 936-241-3431.
