For the second time in as many years, a historic Union Pacific train engine will be traveling through the Brazos Valley.
Big Boy steam locomotive number 40-14, which is touring the U-P system to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the transcontinental railroad, will be making stops November eighth in Navasota and Bryan. And as a special addition, the train, Bush 4141, will be attached to the locomotive and be available for viewing.
It will be in Navasota from 1:15 pm until 1:45 pm on Friday, November the 8th, before heading to Bryan.
Due to the trains stopping in Navasota, Railroad Street from Washington Avenue to Johnson Street will be closed Friday, November the 8th from 8 am to 3 pm. No thru traffic will be allowed and vehicles will not be allowed to park on the street.
