As early voting is taking place in the race to fill Positions Four & Five on the Navasota School Board, we learn that there are other big changes coming up at the NISD as well.
NISD Superintendent Dr. Stu Musick reports Dr. Denise Morgan, the Deputy Superintendent at NISD, has been named the Lone Finalist for the Superintendent position up at Campbell ISD, up near Commerce and Greenville.
Musick says she has been here a lot of years and worn a lot of hats for Navasota ISD and has done a great job for the District. And while he hates to lose her and her leadership, Morgan continues that Navasota’s loss will be Campbell’s gain.
Besides her winning smile and charming personality, Morgan takes with her to Campbell her bachelor’s degree in teaching, her masters in counseling and her doctorate in educational leadership from Sam Houston State, along with her current state certifications for teaching, counseling, mid-management administration and superintendent.
So how is the nisd going to replace her? Musick says they are starting to take resumes and try to get somebody onboard by the end of May or the beginning of June.
Meanwhile, following the mandatory 21-day waiting period, Musick says the Campbell ISD board of trustees is set to meet again on Tuesday, May 9th, to officially hire Dr. Morgan as their new school superintendent.
