Hundreds of ghosts and goulies invaded downtown Navasota last Thursday night, thankfully with their parents, at the city’s largest-ever treats on the streets. Police Chief Justin Leeth told Navasota News the turn-out was amazing and the crowd numbered near 3,000.
And of course, the biggest draws besides the candy was the costume contest.
The littlest big winners were the Quezada twins as Wilma and Fred Flinstone. Second place honors went to Sofia Villasenor as dip and dots and 3rd place was awarded to Christopher Cabera for his scarecrow.
In the 4-year-olds to kindergarten, Harley Rose took first as little bo peep, 2nd went to Blayne Bohot as a Lego man and 3rd to Alysson Gutierrez’ witch.
In the 1st through 3rd grade division, Molly Meadows’ mime brought home the gold, Miguel Maldonado was second as Frankenstein and Lemar Blankenship’s Leatherface took the bronze.
And the eldest division 1st place went to Jordan Coronado’s army tank, 2nd to Lilly Ellis as a wind-up doll and Daana Mena’s three witches got her third place.
Congratulations to all of this year’s winners, and we at Navasota News hope your candy doesn’t run out to soon.
