The 8th annual Bob Whitten Memorial Golf Tournament was another fun time, and great success!
Speaking with Johnny McNally, the executive director the the Navasota Grimes County Chamber of Commerce, he said their events back on October 30th was met with positive reaction, even amidst a pandemic.
“I believe we had 15 teams, which is a good tournament. It was very successful from different perspectives. A lot of good participation, good feedback. We did not do the night golf, and we did collect a lot of comments on that of people asking, ”where is the night golf?’ We will come back with it, if we possibly can, next year. But, for this year, we made the adjustments we had to,” said McNally.
They did, however, still have the annual helicopter golf ball drop, and McNally announced this year’s $1,000 winner as Lupita Canchola.
He added too that the Chamber is starting to get active again, following some time off due to the pandemic, and there are plenty of chamber related events in the coming days and weeks.
“We are really getting moving more again…we have Coffee with the Chamber on November 18th at Classic Rock…then looking ahead, we have a Christmas mixer in December. So, there is a loot coming up,” said McNally.
