A Brazos County constable isn’t happy about a pending move to the courthouse.
County commissioners heard a request this week from precinct 4 constable Isaac Butler for another officer after he just found out he will be responsible for serving more court papers.
Then Butler shared his frustration that he wasn’t included when the decision was made to move his office from a stand alone building to the fourth floor of the courthouse.
County Judge Duane Peters told Butler the decision to move the constable’s office to the courthouse was before precinct lines were redrawn after the 2010 census.
At that time, Peters says the courthouse was part of precinct 1.
Commissioners took no action on Butler’s request for the additional officer.
