Brenham man faces murder charges for Lake Somerville crash

A Brenham man is being charged with murder for a fatal accident that killed four people near Lake Somerville.

That incident happened on May 9th, when 37 year old Ignacio Aviles of Brenham was intoxicated and ran into a guardrail on LBJ Drive. the impact caused him to cross into the other lane and hit another vehicle head on, which killed everyone inside.

Those victims were 37 year old Justin Richard, 18 year old Chase Sowders, 18 year old Jasmine Maxwell, and 6 year old Payton Francis.

Aviles was indicted on Thursday, July 30th. He is being charged with four counts of Murder, and one count of injury to a child.

According to the Washington County District Attorney’s office, Aviles has multiple convictions for DWI.
