Brenham native denied parole for involvement in 2009 death

July 15, 2019 by Willy1550

A Brenham mother in jail for her role in the death of her daughter will serve at least another year in jail.

A Texas Parole Board denied Abigail Young of Brenham of parole. She is serving 20 years for her role in the death of her four year old daughter, Emma Thompson. She was convicted of injury to a child by omission.

The decision was made on Friday, after friends and family protested her release in private hearings.

The child, Emma, was reportedly sexually assaulted and beaten to death in 2009. Young’s boyfriend, Lucas Coe, was convicted for his role and sentenced to life in prison.

Officials with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice say Young will be up for parole review again next summer.
