A single vehicle crash on Sunday night in Brazos County claimed the life of a Washington County woman.
The incident happened on FM 1179 Sunday night, four and a half miles northeast of Bryan, according to Texas DPS Sergeant Erik Burse.
“[The vehicle] was travelling Eastbound on FM 1179, when the driver failed to maintain a single lane, and went into the Westbound traffic lane. [The driver] took evasive action, over corrected, and basically struck a tree in a ditch,” said Burse.
The driver was identified as 39 year old Lashanda Lewis of Brenham. She was not wearing a seat belt and she was ejected.
There were no passengers in her car.
